No such system existed, so I built one

I was managing content approval for several clients through PDFs and WhatsApp. I could not find a tool that made it easy, so I built Akcept.

Akcept: the marketer panel next to the client view on a phone

I had several clients at once, a dozen or so posts a month to get approved for each. I sent a PDF by email or screenshots on WhatsApp. The client replied “ok” or “I do not like the third one, change something”, and I went hunting through a week-old thread to find which post they meant. Sometimes the client approved a version I had already revised. Sometimes I published a version the client had not seen yet.

I looked for a ready-made tool. Trello meant creating an account and learning a new interface for every client. Social media agency tools had approval buried somewhere inside a bigger, more expensive system I did not need the rest of. Nothing did exactly one thing: one link, the client clicks, I see the status.

I built it for myself

A weekend with a React frontend, a simple PHP backend, one table with a token for each client. The client gets a link, opens it with no login, sees the posts for a given month, clicks Approve or leaves a comment on a specific post. I see in my panel what is approved, what is waiting, what needs a fix.

I started using it myself. The thread-hunting disappeared, the version mix-ups disappeared.

Then I added automation, and it bit me

Once approved, a post was supposed to schedule itself for publishing through SocialPilot. I built it, tested it, it worked. Until one client’s post published itself three times, because the approval was not atomic: two clicks close together in time triggered two parallel requests. I fixed the exact thing agencies teach in year one: “works for me” and “works under load” are two different things. The full case study is here.

I opened it up for other people

Since I had solved the problem for myself, there was no reason to keep it only for me. I named the tool Akcept, added white labeling (the client sees your agency’s logo, not mine), set up a public demo account and opened sign-ups. Today real clients use Akcept, including BWS Event Support and Grass, not just my own test accounts.

Who it is for

If you manage content for more than one client and are tired of PDFs, mixed-up versions and digging through WhatsApp to see who approved what: create a free account. The beta is open, you sign up yourself, no sales call required.
